Jewelry FAQs

Some of our jewelry is pictured with a sample center stone. You will see this noted in the item's description. This gives our client's more freedom to choose a center stone that reflects their own unique personality. Once a stone is chosen, the prongs are adjusted and shortened by our jeweler during stone setting.

Some of our natural gems have stable, minor and routine treatments, including heat for rubies and sapphires and oiling for emeralds. These treatments are considered standard in the jewelry industry. The gem's description and appraisal will mention any relevant treatments and/or suggested maintenance.

Some of our jewelry styles are available in multiple metal types and multiple colors of gemstones. Please contact us to find out if the item you like comes in a variety of options. We can also create you a custom piece if what you want is not available otherwise!

You have several choices when it comes to cleaning your jewelry, however we find it's best to keep your cleaning process simple! We use the following method...

1.   Fill a bowl with warm water and a drop or two of mild dish soap

2.   Place your jewelry in the bowl and let it soak for 5-10 minutes

3.   Use a soft toothbrush to gently brush the metal and diamonds, especially the bottom of the diamonds

4.   Rinse under cold or warm water and dry with a soft cloth

The vast majority of diamonds mined in Africa are subject to the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, which was created in 2003 to break the link between rough diamonds and the financing of wars against governments.

As a service to you, as part of your purchase we include an insurance appraisal that describes the item you purchased (metal type, carat weight, etc.), includes pictures and lists the replacement cost in case of damage/theft/loss. You can provide this document to your insurance company in the event you plan to insure your jewelry.

Diamond/Gemstone certifications are reports done by independent labs (like GIA or IGI) that are separate from our appraisals. While most of our stones have certifications, there are a few that don't. Since our gemologists (who do all of our appraisals) are trained by GIA we may choose to forgo a certification in order to keep costs lower. If the item you are purchasing does not have a report, you may request one for an additional cost. There would be a delay in receiving your item, but we want you to be happy with your purchase, so we are more than happy to help you!

Your most-worn items should be seen in person by a jeweler once or twice a year to catch loose stones or worn prongs. This service is complimentary in most jewelry stores.

Your purchase will be processed between 2-3 business days. Your item/s will go through a final quality inspection before shipment. Once it passes quality control, we will ship it to you via 2 day delivery with FedEx. You can find more detailed information on our shipping info page.

For custom jewelry, you will make a 50% deposit once you have signed off on final artwork, and pay the balance 50% once completed. Custom items are non-returnable

While we do have a one-year warranty on all of our pieces against manufacturing defects, we do not provide additional insurance against accidents or loss. However, we do have a company that we recommend. You can find their information on our Insurance page.
